Cridex Banking Trojan

Cyber security specialist have alerted internet banking users in India against the infectious, destructive activity of a worm virus CRIDEX, which attacks & steals personal login credentials of an individual or corporate .

The virus, of the deadly Trojan variant, has been identified and named as CRIDEX .

It has been observed that the new variants of Cridex Banking Trojan are spreading widely. Cridex is an information stealing e-banking Trojan, that originates via removable drives likes Pen drive, Memory Cards. “Cridex Banking Trojan targets users of online banking, social media for stealing user name, passwords among others”, the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (Cert-IN) said in its latest advisory to e-banking users in the country.

The CERT-In is the nodal agency in India to alert against hacking, phishing and to fortify security-related defenses of the Indian Internet domain.

All Indian net banking users are advised to update their password to strong password and never tell their credentials to anyone. They are also advised not to respond any call or sms claiming as bank officials. Bank never ask for your secret details by call or sms
